Saturday Social Ride – Into the Pewsey Vale 🚴‍♀️🚴‍♂️

Bundle up, club! With a brisk 9°C forecast and a fresh 17mph breeze, it’s definitely an overshoes morning (plus arm warmers, gilets, and maybe even those winter gloves you’ve been eyeing). We’re rolling out from Southbroom School at 9:30 am for a lovely 73km loop that takes us through the heart of Wiltshire.

Our route winds north through Horton and the quiet lanes beyond Bishop’s Cannings, before dropping into the beautiful Pewsey Vale. We’ll tackle a few testing climbs around Knowle Hill and the ridgeway lanes, with stunning views across the downs as our reward. The highlight? A well-earned warming stop at HoneyStreet Cafe – their hot chocolate might be just what we need after battling that headwind!

After refuelling, we’ll loop back through Wilcot and Patney, then it’s familiar territory through Etchilhampton and those final lanes home to Devizes. With only a 15% chance of rain, we should stay dry – though autumn is definitely making its presence known!

Time to dig out those winter layers and join us for some proper October miles. The coffee always tastes better when you’ve earned it! ☕
