🚴♀️ Join DTCC for an epic Main Club Ride this Saturday! We’re tackling the scenic Westbury White Horse route, perfect for a spring adventure with stunning views and a well-earned coffee stop.
🌤️ Weather Forecast: Expect a mostly dry day with some sunny spells, temperatures around 16-17°C, and a gentle breeze—ideal cycling weather for May 10!
📍 Start: Outside Southbroom Infants School by The Green, Devizes

⛰️ Climbing: 2,057 ft (627 m)
🗺️ Route: We’ll roll out from Devizes through Rowde’s quiet lanes, past Seend’s rolling fields, and down to Keevil’s peaceful roads. The highlight is the climb up Westbury White Horse Hill, offering breathtaking views from the town side. After descending, we’ll pass through Marston and Potterne, then head to Chirton and Woodborough. Our coffee stop is at Honey Street Café – perfect for a break with cake and chat. The return takes us past the iconic Alton Barnes White Horse, down through All Cannings, and along the quieter Coate Road back to Devizes.

🚴♀️ DTCC is rolling out TWO fantastic rides this Saturday! Whether you’re up for the punchy Main Club Ride or the chilled Easy Roller Introductory Ride, we’ve got you covered for a brilliant day on the bike. Join us for stunning Wiltshire views, great company, and top-notch coffee stops!

⛰️ Climbing: 2,625 ft (800 m)
🗺️ Route: A cracking loop that kicks off from Devizes, heading west through Rowde’s quiet lanes to the historic village of Lacock, with its picturesque abbey vibes. We’ll push on toward Batheaston, tackling the steady Bannerdown Hill climb—around 2 km of leg-testing gradient with rewarding views over the Avon Valley. After a fun descent, we’ll loop back through Lacock’s charming streets, then face the sharp kick of Bowden Hill for a final challenge. The reward? A coffee and cake stop at the ever-popular Rowdey Cow Café in Rowde around 11:30 am. We’ll cruise back to Devizes via familiar lanes, soaking up the spring scenery. Expect a 16-18 mph pace with a no-drop policy—perfect for a solid group ride!

From Devizes, we’ll glide through Etchilhampton’s open fields and into Beechingstoke’s tranquil lanes. The route skirts past Woodborough and Manningford Abbots, with flat stretches and spring blooms galore. We’ll roll through Wilcot before hitting Honey Street Café for coffee and cake around 10:45 am—think sunny vibes and tasty treats. The return leg via Horton Road is smooth and scenic, getting us back to Devizes by midday. Steady 12-14 mph pace, no one left behind—newbies and e-bikes welcome!

🚴♀️ Join DTCC this Saturday for a stunning 43-mile spin through Wiltshire’s rolling countryside! With gorgeous lanes, a punchy climb, and a cracking coffee stop, this ride is set to be a springtime gem. All aboard for the adventure!
📍 Start: Outside Southbroom Infants School by The Green, Devizes

📏 Distance: 43 miles (68 km)
⛰️ Climbing: 1,400 ft (450 m)
🌤️ Weather: Light rain, 17°C, light winds from south west—perfect for pedaling!
🗺️ Route:
Kicking off from Devizes, we’ll roll east through the peaceful village of Etchilhampton, where open fields set the tone. The route weaves through Woodborough’s quiet lanes before dipping south to Manningford Bruce, with hedgerows and spring blooms lining the way. The star of the show is the Pewsey Hill climb—a steady 1-2 km haul that’ll get your heart pumping, topped with sweeping views over the Vale of Pewsey. From there, we’ll cruise through Enford and Upavon, enjoying flowing descents and flat stretches. Looping back through Woodborough, we’ll hit the Honey Street Café for a mid-ride coffee and cake break—expect good vibes and great brews. The return leg takes us past the iconic chalk White Horse near Alton Barnes, through Allington, and along the smooth Horton Road back to Devizes. A perfect mix of challenge and chill!

The club is pleased to announce the resumption of introduction rides named ‘Easy Rollers’ !
Their aim is threefold:
Speed will be such that the group stays together; start together and finish together!
This week we will ride route two. Next Easy roller ride is scheduled for Saturday 3rd May 2025
No Signup needed, everyone to meet outside Southbroom Infants’ School by 8:55am for a briefing prior to 9:00am rollout.
Below are the the 2 routes that will be used (2 rides per month) and route 2 can be shortened if required.

This weekend’s club ride sets off from Devizes and rolling through Allington before tackling the mighty Milk Hill — a true local legend. After catching our breath and admiring the views, we descend toward Marlborough and loop north towards Broad Hinton.
Swooping down past Cherhill and Beckhampton before reaching the real highlight — coffee and cake at Honey Street Café. As always, the stop will hit the spot, the group enjoying a well-earned break and a bit of a laugh.
The route wraps up through Etchilhampton and Coate, finishing back in Devizes.
