This Saturday’s Main Group Ride — 76km with a proper taste of two counties!

Meet at Southbroom School for a 9am rollout — we’re heading out via Rowde and Bromham before dropping down into picture-postcard Lacock, home of our first coffee stop at the National Trust café (yes, that Lacock — cobbled streets and all).

From there it’s out towards Box, with the climb up Bannerdown giving your legs something to talk about before a lovely looping section through Slaughterford and Yatton Keynell — proper quiet Wiltshire/Somerset border lanes at their best. We swing back through Lacock a second time before heading home via Melksham and Poulshot, with the Mind Tree Café in Rowde a possible second coffee stop if legs (and stomachs) allow.

Weather-wise we’re looking at a mild 19°C with just a 20% chance of rain — breezy at 16mph, so worth a light gilet, but overall a proper decent September Saturday to be out on the bike. Humidity’s up there too, so don’t be surprised if it feels a bit muggy on the climbs!

Autumn’s creeping in and the lanes are starting to look glorious for it — leaves just turning, hedgerows still full. Around 76km and 580m+ of climbing, so bring snacks, bring your climbing legs, and bring your best banter for the café stop.

See you at Southbroom School, 9am sharp — let’s make the most of these last proper riding weekends before the clocks change! 🚴‍♂️🍂

🌾 Easy Rollers — Saturday’s ride through the Pewsey Vale

Same as always — friendly faces, no-drop pace, and a route designed so everyone gets home with a smile. We meet at Southbroom School for 9am, heading out through Horton and Woodborough into Marden and the wider Pewsey Vale, before swinging back via Market Lavington way, Worton, Potterne and Etchilhampton.

We haven’t locked in the food stop yet — it’ll be either Planks Farm Shop or the Black Dog, decided on the day depending on how everyone’s feeling (and how hungry we are by then!).

Forecast is looking kind — 19°C, just a 20% chance of rain and a light-ish breeze — so a decent one to be out on the bike before the autumn evenings really draw in. If you’ve been thinking about joining a group ride but weren’t sure where to start, this is exactly the ride for you — steady pace, friendly chat, and nobody gets left behind.

New faces always welcome — come and say hello at Southbroom School, 9am! 🚲☀️
