Saturday’s Main Group ride is Lyneham Banks, and with sunshine, 13°C and only a 5% chance of rain, it’s a good one to get out for. 🚴☀️
We’ll roll out of Southbroom School at 9am and head north-west towards Calne, then wind through the lanes around Bremhill and on to Lyneham, where the ride gets its name. After that it’s back along the A4 towards Beckhampton and home over the Wiltshire downs, finishing back at Southbroom School.
It’s 79.5 km with around 659 m of climbing, so there’s some honest work to do, but nothing that won’t be forgotten over a slice of cake. There’s a light 12 mph breeze about, so pick your wheels wisely and sit in a wheel when you need to. 😉
Coffee stop is still to be decided, so keep an eye out on the day. It’s mid-October, so a spare layer in the pocket is a good idea even with the sun out.
Come and ride with us. Autumn colours, quiet lanes and good company are on the menu. 🍂☕

Easy rollers
Easy Rollers are back out this Saturday, and the forecast is kind: sunny, 13°C and just a 5% chance of rain. ☀️
We set off from Southbroom School at 9am for a friendly, relaxed 41 km loop with a gentle 232 m of climbing, all at a pace that suits everyone. We’ll roll east through Etchilhampton and Beechingstoke, then across the Vale of Pewsey through North Newton and West Stowell, with the Alton Barnes White Horse looking down on us as we go.
Then comes the best bit: our coffee stop at Honeystreet Café. There’ll be time for a proper sit-down, a hot drink and a very well-earned slice of cake. 🍰 After that we’ll ride home through Allington and Bishops Cannings, finishing back at Southbroom School.
There’s a light 12 mph breeze about, so we’ll share the work. It’s mid-October, so a spare layer in your pocket is a good idea even with the sun out.
