Saturday 3 October: Main Group, 80km 🚴

Autumn is nudging at the door, but Saturday’s forecast is a kind one. It should be about 19°C with a light 8mph breeze, and only a 30% chance of showers. Maybe pack a gilet just in case.

We roll out of Southbroom School at 9am and head down Dunkirk Hill, then through Sells Green and out into the Wiltshire lanes. The route then loops through the Vale of Pewsey and over to the villages of Lockeridge and East Kennett. The biggest climb of the day comes just before halfway, topping out at over 200m. It’s a good one, but there’s plenty of company and plenty of time to enjoy the view at the top. The route has at least 290m of climbing in total.

Both groups will be stopping at Honeystreet Café for coffee and cake, which is what we’re all really riding for. We finish with a run up Monument Hill and back to Southbroom.

Come and join us. Your legs will thank you at the café. ☕

Rides are weather dependent — check back for any updates on the morning.

Saturday 3 October: Easy Rollers, 47km 🚲

Our friendly, shorter and slower-paced Easy Rollers ride is back. It’s a welcoming group, and nobody gets left behind. It’s a great pick if you’re new to the club, building up your distance, or just fancy a more relaxed Saturday.

We set off from Southbroom School at 9am and head west through Sells Green and Seend, then loop round through Potterne and Urchfont. The Vale of Pewsey comes next, with Patney and Woodborough along the way. The roads are gentle, with about 300m of climbing in total and nothing steeper than around 5%. The ride finishes with a pretty stretch past Alton Priors and Allington, with the Pewsey Downs rolling along the skyline.

The forecast looks lovely at about 19°C with a light breeze, and a 30% chance of showers, so a spare layer is a good idea.

We stop for coffee and cake at Honeystreet Café alongside the Main Group, and then it’s an easy roll back to Devizes.

Bring a friend, and we’ll save you a seat at the café. ☕
