Saturday 25th March – MTB Away Day

Where: Forest of Dean Cycle Centre (post code GL16 7EH)
When: Saturday 25th March 2023

The perfect venue, catering for all standards and ages of mountain bike riders. The venue offers three different routes:
  1. Family Route – 9 miles – Grade Green – suitable for all
  2. Verderers Route – 7 miles – Grade Blue – trail suitable for intermediate cyclist or mountain bikers with basic off road skills
  3. Freeminers Route – 7.4 miles – Grade Red – trail suitable for proficient mountain bikers with good off-road skills
Provisional Timetable:
  • 10:00 – Meet at the Cycle Centre
  • 10:30 – Ride 1; ‘en masse’ on the Family Route. Riders will split naturally according to speed and skill.
  • 12:00 – 13:00 – Lunch, pack up your own or see the link below.
  • 13:00 – Ride 2; choose your own route option, you could repeat the family route or pick one or both of the other two. Ride in small groups or solo, it’s up to you. After your 2nd / 3rd ride you can leave when you are ready (don’t forget your passengers if you car shared)! there will be no timetabled dispersal.
For those riders that don’t own a mountain bike don’t PANIC, hire is available. BUT this must be done in advance online (see link below). Full details and costings can be found on the link below.

Also worth noting that, in my opinion, the family route and Verderers route would be suitable for gravel bikes (fat tyres and dry conditions….not sure about the red route).

Parking is on-site at £8 per day. Pay for your parking with cash, debit/credit card or use the RingGo app. Please car share if possible and DTCC will refund parking charges after the event.
