We are a growing and inclusive club and are very pleased you’re interested in joining or renewing your membership.
New members will benefit from a club with an established ride structure and a growing programme of events (Long-range bike rides, velodrome sessions, Alps trips, race programme, social events and much more).
To join or to renew your membership
Click the link below and select the ‘join‘ tab. You will be required to enter/update your details and to pay your £14 annual membership with a credit or debit card. There’s also a £1 admin fee, which is charged by British Cycling. This covers the cost of the card payment and supports our use of their online membership tool, which we use to manage our club membership database.
You do not need to be a British Cycling member in order to join our club, although if you are a current or previous BC member you may need to use your BC membership number when you enter your details.
Membership Period
Your subscription fee will cover one calendar year (Jan-Dec). For new members joining in the last quarter of the year (Oct/Nov/Dec), the £15 subscription will cover the whole of the following year.
Ride Buddy
For less experienced (or completely new!) riders, commencing cycling with a club can seem a daunting prospect, but it need not be. If you are in this category and would like to be set up with a ‘ride buddy’ for your first few rides, then that can easily be arranged. If you think this would be helpful, then please email us describing what kind of experience you have (even if you have none!).
Youth Riders
As a relatively new club, our club does not presently have a specific youth section able to offer youth-specific activities, though we have appointed a Safeguarding Officer (who is also the Club Secretary), and are fast developing our club policy in respect of Youth and Juniors. As such, we now accept membership applications from riders aged under 18. Under 18 riders’ membership applications will only be accepted in conjunction with the completion of a parental consent form contained here.
On acceptance as a club member, U18 riders will be asked to attend a formal Club Introductory Ride to be assessed by the Club Ride Coordinator, with guidance provided back to the U18 rider and, if appropriate, to a parent on their readiness for riding with normal club activities.
If they are considered not ready, they may be allowed to continue riding with the club if accompanied by a parent who is also a member. We are, however not well set up to cater for U16 riders and, whilst we will consider membership on a case-by-case basis, we would in the first instance suggest considering a local go-ride scheme.
