Saturday 10th January Club Ride

Saturday Club Ride – 10th January πŸš΄β€β™€οΈπŸš΄β€β™‚οΈ

First Saturday ride of the new year! We’re meeting at 9:30am from Southbroom School for a 65km loop that’ll help shake off any lingering festive cobwebs. The route takes us out through Horton and up towards Marlborough, before dropping down through the lovely lanes around Stockley and Bromham.

We’ll work our way through Melksham and back via Seend and Sells Green, with the final stretch bringing us home through Conscience Lane. Around 700m of climbing spread throughout – enough to keep us warm on what looks to be a cold but clear morning. Coffee stop will be decided on the day depending on how we’re all feeling β˜•

Wrap up well – winter gloves, base layers, and maybe that thermal jacket. The forecast is looking dry and bright, but it’ll be properly cold, especially on those descents. As always, rides are weather dependent, so keep an eye on the forecast and our social channels for any last-minute changes.

See you Saturday morning for the first group ride of 2026 – let’s start the year as we mean to go on! 🚲

Saturday 27th December Club Ride

**Final Saturday Ride of 2025 πŸš΄β€β™€οΈπŸš΄β€β™‚οΈ**

This is it – our last club ride of the year! Join us Saturday at 9:30am from Southbroom School for a 61km loop to close out the season properly. We’ll head down Dunkirk Hill and wind through the lanes.

Β

The usual coffee and cake stop at Honeystreet Cafe β˜• will be especially welcome with the cold weather – perfect for warming up before tackling the return leg. Around 600m of climbing throughout, nothing too harsh, just enough to keep the blood flowing on a chilly December morning.

Β

It’s going to be cold but dry, so layer up well – base layers, winter gloves, and maybe that neck warmer you’ve been saving. The lanes should be clear but watch for any lingering autumn leaves on the corners.

Β

Hard to believe another year of Saturday rides is coming to an end. Let’s finish it together – same time, same place, same good company. See you at 9:30am! πŸ‚β„οΈ

Saturday 20th December Club Ride

Saturday’s Beckhampton Loop πŸš΄β€β™€οΈπŸš΄β€β™‚οΈ

Good news – after all that rain this week, Saturday’s forecast is looking better! We’re heading out at 9:30am from Southbroom School for a nice 61km loop through the Vale. The route takes us down through Dunkirk Hill and across to Bromham, then we’ll work our way through the quiet lanes around Stockley before the climb up to Beckhampton.

Coffee stop as usual at Honeystreet Cafe β˜• – perfect timing to refuel before the return leg through Woodborough and Patney. The last bit includes a steady climb up Monument Hill, but nothing too serious, and we’ll be home via Green Lane.

Around 650m of total climbing on this one. The lanes might still have a few puddles lurking after this week’s weather, so mudguards could be handy if you have them. Otherwise, just bring your usual kit and we’ll enjoy what should be a pleasant autumn ride.

See you Saturday morning – wheels rolling at 9:30am sharp! πŸ‚

Saturday 15th November Club Ride + Easy Rollers

πŸš΄β€β™€οΈ Saturday Main Ride – Marlborough Downs Loop πŸš΄β€β™‚οΈ

Join us this Saturday for a stunning 69km ride with a proper 573m of climbing, departing from Southbroom School at 9:30am. We’ll roll out through Horton and climb steadily towards the Marlborough Downs, passing through the picturesque village of East Kennett before reaching the historic Beckhampton roundabout near the ancient stones.

The route then sweeps us through the lovely Stockley valleys before we tackle the rewarding climb up Bowden Hill – your legs will definitely earn that coffee stop! We’ll wind our way back through Poulshot, with a well-deserved break at the Rowdey Cow to refuel for the final hill home.

With a high of 13Β°C and cloudy skies forecast, it’s perfect cycling weather – not too cold, not too hot, and no sun in your eyes on those climbs! Still worth packing a gilet for the descents though. The autumn colours through the lanes should look moody and spectacular under those grey November skies.

See you at the start line – because the best adventures happen when we ride together! β˜•πŸ°

πŸš΄β€β™€οΈ Saturday Easy Rollers – Friendly Autumn Spin πŸš΄β€β™‚οΈ

Our Easy Rollers group sets off this Saturday at 9:30am from Southbroom School for a relaxed 31km ride – perfect for anyone wanting a sociable morning on the bike without the longer miles!

This week’s route keeps things nice and steady with just 133m of gentle climbing, taking us through some of our favourite local lanes at a comfortable, chatty pace. The highlight? Our coffee stop at the Black Dog, where we’ll warm up with hot drinks.

With Saturday’s forecast showing 13Β°C and cloudy conditions, it’s ideal weather for a leisurely ride – mild enough that you won’t overheat, but you might want to bring arm warmers just in case. This is the perfect ride for anyone new to group cycling or just fancying a more relaxed Saturday spin.Β

Come join our friendly bunch – because cycling is always better when shared with good company! β˜•πŸš²

Saturday 8th November Club Ride

Saturday’s Splendid Vale Loop πŸš΄β€β™€οΈπŸš΄β€β™‚οΈ

Roll out with us this Saturday for a gorgeous 67km journey through the heart of Wiltshire! Starting at 9:30am from Southbroom School, we’ll head east through the quiet lanes toward Patney, then sweep down into the beautiful Pewsey Vale. The route takes us along peaceful country roads through Honeystreet (where we’ll pause for our essential coffee and cake fix at the lovely Honeystreet Cafe β˜•πŸ°), before climbing back through the charming village of Wilcot and home via Hare Street.

With around 450m of gentle climbing spread throughout the ride, it’s the perfect balance of challenge and chat! And remember – punctures happen to the best of us, but that’s what makes our club special: there’s always someone ready with a spare tube and a helping hand! πŸ› οΈ The forecast looks crisp but dry – ideal autumn cycling weather, so bring that extra layer just in case (and maybe check those tyres before we roll!).

See you at Southbroom – because Saturday mornings are made for wheels, friends, and shared adventures… punctures and all! πŸ‚

Saturday 25th October Club Ride

Saturday Social Ride – Into the Pewsey Vale πŸš΄β€β™€οΈπŸš΄β€β™‚οΈ

Bundle up, club! With a brisk 9Β°C forecast and a fresh 17mph breeze, it’s definitely an overshoes morning (plus arm warmers, gilets, and maybe even those winter gloves you’ve been eyeing). We’re rolling out from Southbroom School at 9:30 am for a lovely 73km loop that takes us through the heart of Wiltshire.

Our route winds north through Horton and the quiet lanes beyond Bishop’s Cannings, before dropping into the beautiful Pewsey Vale. We’ll tackle a few testing climbs around Knowle Hill and the ridgeway lanes, with stunning views across the downs as our reward. The highlight? A well-earned warming stop at HoneyStreet Cafe – their hot chocolate might be just what we need after battling that headwind!

After refuelling, we’ll loop back through Wilcot and Patney, then it’s familiar territory through Etchilhampton and those final lanes home to Devizes. With only a 15% chance of rain, we should stay dry – though autumn is definitely making its presence known!

Time to dig out those winter layers and join us for some proper October miles. The coffee always tastes better when you’ve earned it! β˜•
