Saturday 8th August Club Ride
π΄ Saturday Main Group Ride β 8th August π΄
Get the legs warmed up β this week’s route is a big one at ~84km, with 300m+ of climbing to keep things honest along the way.
We set off from Southbroom School at 9:00am, heading out via Horton before making our way north towards Calne. The main event of the day comes just beyond there: Labour-In-Vain Hill, a proper leg-tester of a climb, but you’ll have the Cherhill White Horse and Lansdowne Monument looking down on you for encouragement (or judgement β you decide π ). From the top it’s on to Beckhampton, right on the edge of Avebury’s ancient landscape, before we turn back for home.
Along the way we’ll stop off at Honeystreet CafΓ© βπ° for a well-earned break β you’ll have earned every bit of that cake by then. From there it’s the final stretch back into Devizes.
Forecast is looking gorgeous βοΈ β 26Β°C, low humidity, light winds and only a small chance of rain. Sunscreen and a decent water supply are the priority this week β this one will work up a thirst!
Big day, big views, and a proper sense of achievement waiting at the top of that hill. Come and join us! π΄ββοΈπ΄ββοΈ
